Nomad: The Adventure Continues

Back in 2017, just a stone's throw from where we stand today, Nomad was born out of necessity and a dash of crazy ambition. One of our co-founders found himself at a crossroads—out of a job but full of ideas. What does one do in such a situation? Simple: you open up your house, toss in 15 beds across a few shared rooms, and welcome travelers with open arms. Thus, the humble beginnings of Nomad, where hospitality met a touch of madness.

Fast forward a year, and we packed our bags (not really, we just moved a few blocks) to a bigger, bolder location. Here, we dreamed of more than just a place to crash. We envisioned a playground for culture, where a hostel could coexist with a bar, a café, a restaurant, an art gallery, and even a tourism agency. But let’s be honest—dreams are expensive, and renovations even more so. So, we kicked things off with what we could: a place to sleep and a place to drink. Not a bad start, right?

Over time, the rest of the pieces fell into place. Slowly but surely, we built Nomad into not just a hostel, but a cultural landmark, a spot where locals and travelers mingle, sharing stories over a drink, a meal, or an art exhibit. We’ve weathered political storms, pandemics, and economic rollercoasters, but through it all, Nomad has stood tall, ready to welcome you with a smile, a drink, and a story or two.

So whether you're a weary traveler looking for a bed or a local searching for a new haunt, Nomad is here, standing as a testament to resilience, creativity, and the unshakeable belief that life is best lived with a bit of adventure.

Our mission

Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to provide tourists with a cultural immersion that is as rich and authentic as it is swift, capturing the essence of Santa Cruz in every visit. We want every guest to experience something beyond mere accommodation, transforming each stay into an adventure. At the same time, we aspire to create a space that serves as a cultural reference point for the local community, where the stories, flavors, and art of the region blend in an environment that always has something new to offer.

Our vision

Nomad is a project in constant evolution. We are not static, because we understand that true beauty lies in change and adaptation. We have a direction, but it is not carved in stone. Our path is flexible, and we are always open to new ideas, challenges, and directions. We invite you to be a part of this journey because we believe that the best stories are those written together, step by step, with each new day.
